About FoS

Freedom of Sketch started out in room 308, University Place, Kutztown University of PA. Unhappy with the state of art, photography, design and illustration discussion at Kutztown outside of class, Steven Fischer, Jeff Koromi and Kevin Kost began a simple website and discussion forum to do it themselves, which they ruthlessly promoted on school grounds by both legal and illegal means.

Still, the site wasn’t bringing them the results in discussion they wanted. The forum was closed and the site replaced with a splash page. Steven Fischer and Jeff Koromi relegated it’s use for portfolio purposes, which Jeff still uses to this day.

A years later and with more experience under his belt, Jeff re-opened FoS, now powered by Wordpress technology, as a more legitimate place to post work and items of creative interest for himself and anyone who will listen. He invited Michael Hyneman as another author to help populate the blog with interesting content.

In the future, we at FoS would like to be able to gain more ears and launch initiatives through the Freedom of Sketch name. Freedom of Sketch started as an ideal in Commercial Art discussion. Hopefully one day more of that will be opened up to others in a new form. Until then, enjoy what we have to say and please add in your own two cents to make the party a little livelier.
