Personal Work Update

UPDATED

Apologies for the lax posting. The last few weeks have been hecktic to say the least – websites and flyers aren’t going to design themselves after all. I’ve also been trying to do more personal work as well, to limited results. I’ve only crawled along my to do list of projects and even with my musings on how to keep creative, I’ve still fallen flat with everything except sticker bombing and tagging things.

However that doesn’t mean that I don’t have work to show.

This first piece might be familiar to anyone checking out some of the early FoS posts. This has been my main personal piece for about 4 months. I did some tidying up of it as well as finishing off some of the stuff that needed finishing (such as the bottle and linework on the cinder block walls). Even with all that done, I’m about 40% done with it.

Also, at my 9–5 I’ve finished a piece that I’ll be able to fit into my portfolio. This flyer was done for the Historic Chester Business Association for their 9th Annual Car Show. The lettering is hand done on the top headline, with the bottom type from the House Gothic collection of fonts. It was cool to do something with a bit of a retro feel to it.

UPDATE: Alright, so instead of making a new post, I’ll just update this one I just did with some further new aesthetic goodies. Did some more work on the face of the girl in Sad Girl with Bottle. Also, I got renewed interest in Not A Machine last night, so I roughed in the hair. It’s a bit hard to see, but at full printed size it’ll be much more evident. At 22″ x 30″ and 300 DPI, Not A Machine will be my largest high quality work to date.
